Drs. Marc Melcher and Keith Hansen have been awarded two grants to fund the commercialization of their "kidney jacket:" a $100k Stanford-Coulter Translational Research Grant and a $50k Stanford Spectrum MedTech Grant to help bring the innovation to market.

Drs. Olivia Martinez and Derrick Wan have been named Johnson and Johnson Distinguished Professors of Surgery.
– San Diego State University - SDSU AlumniTito Monge Named SDSU’s Top Alumni for 2022
Humberto "Tito" Monge has been named one of San Diego State University's Top Alumni for 2022. Monge was a physician assistant with the Division of Abdominal Transplant for almost 30 years when he retired in July of 2021. He will be honored with nine other individuals on April 23 at the 46th SDSU Alumni Awards of Distinction.
